Arun Kumar Kandi is a CAD software engineer with almost a decade of experience in the software CAD/physical design domain, with a focus on low power and high-performance graphics/SoC designs. Currently working at Apple, Arun has previously worked as a Graphics Hardware Engineer and an SoC library physical design engineer, where he generated physical design collateral for Intel SoC designs on the latest process nodes and dealt with layout RV quality checks, DFM analysis/enhancements, and yield studies. Arun has a solid understanding of digital design, computer architecture, Verilog, and hands-on experience in RTL synthesis, timing closure, physical design, including floor/power planning, CTS, routing, and tape out. He has a strong working knowledge of developing automated design flows using perl/tcl scripting for physical design/integration flows. Arun's expertise also includes standard cell circuit design and generating timing/characterization views for Intel SoC libraries. He has experience in front-end design views generation and quality verification, including Logical Equivalence checks using Conformal, atpg verify, and SDF back annotation using PT shell and Ctech for custom cell insertion into the structural design domain. Arun graduated from the University of Utah and holds a Masters's degree in digital design, computer architecture, and Verilog. He also has a B.Tech degree from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University. Arun has worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at bprb University of Utah, where he designed a PCB level circuit board, developed an implantable medical device in the Bio-engineering department, and tested this device successfully in patients with pelvic disorders for Intra-abdominal pressure measurement and recorded using a wireless handset device. Arun has also worked as a Design Engineer Intern at Research Center Imarat, where he designed and implemented a radio altimeter on Xilinx Virtex-4 FPGA using VHDL behavioral modeling. Arun's tech stack includes software engineering, frontend development, QA, integration, and design. He has 11.70 years of relevant experience in the industry.
